Our charitable giving program prioritizes non-profit organizations within our markets that are working to address our defined areas of focus:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"general multi-column default\">\n    <div class=\"container halves\">\n        <div class=\"column\"><div class=\"module\"><p>COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT<\/p>\n<p>Priorities include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"checklist\" style=\"columns: 1;\">\n<li>Promote economic development of small businesses<\/li>\n<li>Increase business development<\/li>\n<li>Workforce development\/job creation<\/li>\n<li>Quality of life enhancement for community members<\/li>\n<li>Support community services for low to moderate income individuals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"column\"><div class=\"module\"><p>AFFORDABLE HOUSING<\/p>\n<p>Priorities include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"checklist\" style=\"columns: 1;\">\n<li>Reduce homelessness<\/li>\n<li>Increase homeownership opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Support neighborhood revitalization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"general multi-column default\">\n    <div class=\"container halves\">\n        <div class=\"column\"><div class=\"module\"><p>FINANCIAL LITERACY<\/p>\n<p>Priorities include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"checklist\" style=\"columns: 1;\">\n<li>Provide financial education for low to moderate income individuals<\/li>\n<li>Expand access to retirement preparedness education<\/li>\n<li>Support homeownership financial literacy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"column\"><div class=\"module\"><p>Funding requests will not be approved for:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"checklist\" style=\"columns: 1;\">\n<li>Individuals<\/li>\n<li>Religious groups or for religious purposes<\/li>\n<li>Political\/lobbying organizations or activities<\/li>\n<li>Beauty pageants<\/li>\n<li>General operations<\/li>\n<li>Any organization discriminating against race, color, creed, sex, age, disability, religion, or marital status<\/li>\n<li>Sponsorships for company recognition or logo inclusion only<\/li>\n<li>Ad directories<\/li>\n<li>Activities outside our markets<\/li>\n<li>Teams, clubs, or organizations serving fewer than 20 members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"btn primary\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alerus.com\/about\/community-giving\/funding-request\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Request Funding<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"general one-column default\">\n    <div class=\"container\">\n        <div class=\"column\"><div class=\"module\"><p><strong>Volunteerism<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We encourage our employees to contribute their time and skills to community causes that are important to them. Eligible Alerus employees receive unlimited paid time off to volunteer with nonprofit organizations in their communities during normal working hours.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"module\"><p><strong>Employee matching gifts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our matching gift initiative supports employees\u2019 charitable giving by matching individual donations of at least $50 to eligible non-profit organizations.
